The idea for this blog comes from a personal ‘pet project’ that I’ve been brooding on for a very long time. If you follow me on LinkedIn, you will have probably noticed that I often share and promote news about how people are using nature systems to help mitigate the effects of climate change. My goal for this blog is to have everyone read along as I go about discovering exciting initiatives, inspiring stories and promising ideas for how to positively affect the issue of climate change.

Sometimes, the simplest ideas can have a profound impact. And sometimes it takes a village, so to speak. With this project, I hope to share some of the more inspirational things that I find as I discover and research initiatives for positive change.

I’ve been thinking about the transition we are now in and what is being referred to as a polycrisis. I’ve especially been interested in reading about the positive ways we as a society might be able to dig our way out of the mess. (It wouldn’t be me if it weren’t about finding some positive framing!)

Putting My Writing Skills to Better Use

The good news is that there is an abundance of positive things happening in the world and there are plenty of ordinary people doing extraordinarily good work. I think we could all use more stories about resilience and turning things around, and about working together to make that happen..

Stories about everyday inspiration and collaboration are all too often overpowered by the dramatic hyperbole of a breathless negative news cycle. I want to put my writing skills to good use and do something about that in my own small way.

I also hope many of you will offer insights of your own in the comments, and maybe even subscribe to my Bringing Back Nature newsletter on LinkedIn. Or simply follow me on LinkedIn to see all the various things that I get up to.
